Resolved Question: Any idea what my thesis for this should be?

I'm a high school student taking a freshmen philosophy class at the local college. Early on, the teacher had us pick an article from a philosophy magazine to read and analyze. I chose one on neuroscience and conflicts of interest. Now he tells us we have to write a 12 page essay on the same general subject where we try and argue a point. I'm a little lost here. I'm thinking something along the lines of: "we have built our society around inherent conflicts of interest. We value education, but our media is set up in such a way as to dumb down the population. We value peace but have created a machine that perpetuates war. We value independent judgement, but allow lobbyists to have a great deal of influence in washington." What do you think about that? Any ideas or modifications? Should I scrap it and come up with something new? more
